At the beginning of 20th century, it seems, there were so many Kashmiris living in Punjab that if a random photographer went out to shoot a random Punjabi woman there was a good chance he would come back with a random shot of Kashmiri woman.
The following postcard dated 1907 (Bombay) and captioned ‘A model of Panjab Beauty’ is probably the strangest curio in my collection.
But, it obviously needed some fixing…
Ha Ha ha sweet . yes she is clearly a kashmiri Pandit wearing a Dejhor earrings
Interesting video. So you're saying that married Hindu Kashmiri Brahmin women don't wear sindur or bindi. Is that right? This seems to contradict photos like this one: http://www.powerpolitics.in/Issues/September2013/images/kashmir_doughter2.jpg I would appreciate any information that you can provide, which would lead me to a better understanding of the community.

And of course, on your own blog, I have also seen a photo of Nehru's mother, and she doesn't have a bindi.
Most married Pandit woman do now wear a bindi but as shown by the images, it wasn't always the case. However, dejhoor was and is the real symbol of married women among pandit.
