You can see a couple of Chinar Trees along Canal in jammu….Also was quite surprised to see a couple in Mussorie [Uttaranchal]…
Some Pandits consider Chinar same as Canadian Maple…
I have seen a chinar tree growing in the garden of a house in Jammu. People in that locality say that the owner fed it lot of milk, that’s how it survived harsh summers of Jammu. Interestingly, it is said, at one time, more than thousand chinar trees in Naseem Bagh (built by Akbar) were nourished with milk by Jahangir.
