Here’s some more info. based on an input from my father:
Kaanz and muhool, big stuff for work on daan (grains), khollur (elliptical, elongated in shape Wokhul)and Kajvot used mostly byhakeems for preparing medicines.
Most of these stone items are made at a place called Athwajan, on the national highway approaching Srinagar. The place is also known for its stone quarries.
I remember how the Wokhul and Kajvoth were chiseled out of stone by hand…
