Dear Vinayak,
The photograph is of a Brown Trout and not a rainbow trout.
There are brown trouts in Verinag spring and the stream which flows further down. Though they have added some rainbow trouts as well, but brown is dominant.
I know it becoz I have am a pro angler and visited Verinag Trout Beat quite many times.

This fish in the pic does not look brown, its kind of rainbowy:) I don't know much about fish. I will try to get back to Man Mohan Ji on this one.
